Mentoring
Do you need help finding your voice or making sense of your photographic practice? The right mentor can help an artist to develop their creative process through conversation and support.
My background in photography is diverse, a journey that has taken me from art school to the Telegraph magazine, from curating at a public art festival in Pondicherry, India to an MA in Photography Arts.
My approach is flexible and structured to the needs of the individual and will offer a unique and supportive space in which to explore and develop your photographic practice. It can find you validation, understand your journey and find joy in your process.
I am delighted to work with both established, emerging and serious amateur photographers offering appropriate critical and practical advice, a motivational, exciting experience for the practicing photographer and a life changing experience for the enthusiastic amateur. I will look at the areas of concern, offer feedback and guidance moving forward, address motivation, technique, subject, concepts and what might be holding back your practice.
I know instinctively how to develop and direct a photographer’s practice and I can help in shaping a professional portfolio with a distinct photographic identity or working on a long-term project that requires a presentation form. I am interested in portrait, documentary and more artful practice, and I understand how these methods of documentation can complement each other and work together to produce both visually challenging and critically interesting work. I am also an experience and nuanced editor and can sequence work with an intuitive and sensitive eye. You can trust me to bring something fresh and original to you work.
I would love to work with two or three photographers in 2025 so if you think I can help please get in touch for further information.
